Jessica and Dewayne have known each other since they were 12 and 14 years old. They were friends in elementary school and have been dating ever since. They have been together so long that when he proposed, Jessica didn’t believe him or know what was going on. He proposed by saying “I have a question to ask you.” Her response was what got me. She didn’t think anything of it and thought he just wanted something so she responded with “what do you need?” That was when he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! What a perfect surprise.
Dewayne is an avid Tarheels fan so they chose light blue for the Tarheels and light pink for a color pop. Even their cups had the Tarheels symbol on them. Her centerpieces were blocks of wood with lace jars, flowers, and lanterns. She also chose to have personalized wine bottles on each table. It added a little more pop and her guests were able to take them home at the end of the night as a keepsake.
The part that stood out the most to me was the cake! It was absolutely gorgeous. The detail and all the fondant flowers were perfect. I had never seen a cake like it before and we have been hosting weddings for 12 years now. It was definitely a focal point for the evening.
