Kara and Stuart first met at a graduation party at the Lutterloh House. Stuart actually used their daughter to propose for him. They were at the beach on a family vacation and Kara was in the shower. Stuart had their little girl go in the bathroom with the ring and she asked “Will you marry my daddy?” Obviously she said yes!
Unfortunately, due to Hurricane Matthew making his way through North Carolina they had to have their ceremony on the covered patio. However, they still get the pretty view of the gazebo in the background for all of their photos. In order to get their color scheme each one just picked a color they liked and went from there, thus how they came up with charcoal and plum. My favorite piece at their wedding was the cake. The cake stand was made out of pipes and looked very steampunk-ish it was really cool! Certainly the most creative cake stand we have ever had at the venue.
They did all the flowers and cake decorating themselves. A beautiful display of creativity and DIY.
