A special thanks to theKnot.com that already has the love story of this sweet couple written out for me.
How they met: “Curt and Lindsey were set up on a blind date by their families on July 5, 2015. Lindsey’s aunt and Curt’s cousin had been planning for several weeks for the two to meet but her aunt was hesitant since Lindsey had just purchased her first home. Lindsey knew a lot of his family, but never had met Curt. Little did they know, the soon-to-be couple grew up less than five miles apart.
For the next few months, Curt planned the best dates – baseball games, football games and dinners at delicious restaurants in Charlotte. But Lindsey knew things were getting even more serious when Curt invited her to tag along for a short work trip to New York City after Christmas.
Lindsey’s Paw-Paw had become very sick in late summer 2015. Curt did not have the chance to meet Paw-Paw; however, the night he went to be with the Lord, Curt was there to comfort her family at the hospital. Lindsey knew this was a special man when he led Lindsey and her grandma in a sincere prayer during this difficult time. Lindsey’s other grandma, known as Nana, was battling lung cancer, and her health was declining quickly. During Nana’s last few days, Curt told her to rest assured that her granddaughter would always be in good hands. Because of these special moments, Lindsey knew that the Lord had brought this man into her life for a reason.”
How he proposed: “Near the end of July, Curt told Lindsey that he wanted to take her on a short vacation before the start of the school year. Both had never been to Southport so Lindsey started planning! Little did she know that Curt was also planning as well!
Because of the busy weekends, they decided to go at the beginning of the week to explore the quaint coastal town and beach. Lindsey could not wait to eat at one of her favorite restaurants Provisions on Sunday evening. Curt suggested to walk down by the pier.
As they were walking, he starts explaining that he had visited her mom and grandma on Friday to ask them an important question…
After Lindsey told her family and close friends the news, Curt told her that the ring was engraved with Nana’s favorite verse in Psalm 118 “this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.”” Is that not the sweetest and most heartfelt ring/proposal you have ever heard?!
They got married at their home church and had their reception with us at A Place in the Vineyard on August 5, 2017. She chose colors of blush pink, navy and gold. She had super tall and gorgeous centerpieces on the tables to add height to the vaulted ceilings. Speaking of ceilings, we now offer drapes inside the reception hall. She was one of our first to use them and they looked gorgeous! The ivory went so well with her pinterest color scheme and accentuated the dance floor.
