A Fairy Tale
Alcohol. Because no great love story ever started with someone eating a salad.
In this case, with Jennifer and Ron, you could say alcohol played a small part in their first encounter. They met at Octoberfest in Hickory in a beer garden. She had no idea who he was, and yet he came up to her out of the blue and kissed her on the cheek. “It was so random! I was crying, eating a funnel cake and listening to the band play one of my favorite songs” Jennifer said.
He had no idea why she was crying but a wave came over him and he thought that a kiss could cheer her up. No one likes to see a damsel in distress. Just like in a fairy tale, the handsome prince has to swoop in and sweep the princess off her feet. I would say Ron did just that. Believe it or not, they actually didn’t talk for several years after the festival. Fate couldn’t keep them apart but for so long though because they ended up reconnecting four years ago in 2013.
A Magical Proposal
After that fairy tale encounter when they first met, Ron had to keep up the magical feel of their relationship with an equally exciting proposal. I can’t think of a better place to get engaged than on the beaches of Cancun, Mexico. Surrounded by palm trees, crystal clear blue water, gorgeous white sand, and warm sunshine. Needless to say, the sun had a little competition as to who shone brighter that day. Was it the new bride-to-be, her knight in shining armor or her flawless princess cut engagement ring?
Dreams Really Do Come True
Jennifer and Ron got married with us at A Place in the Vineyard on September 10, 2017. They chose to have it at a fairy tale vineyard to try and relive when they first met at the beer gardens… except beer turned into wine. Wine has a little more of a romantic feel to it… not a bad trade if you ask me! But I am partial of course.
When Jennifer first started walking down the isle to the gazebo where her future awaited her, her smile and happiness rivaled the sun itself. Wearing a flowing white, A-Line gown with sweetheart neckline, from David’s Bridal, everyone was in awe of just how beautiful she was. The flattering sweetheart neckline was accented with a pearl necklace and pinned up hair with long loose curls down her back. Her natural makeup, sparkly eyes, and burgundy lips were stunning. Mr. Jarvis, welcome to your own, personal fairy tale ending.
Happily Ever After
The gazebo was adorned with purple and white tulle. On the two middle columns were huge floral pieces that framed the Mr. and Mrs. during the ceremony. It adds a simple and gorgeous backdrop to all of their photos that they had taken.
Jennifer chose her colors based on the fact her future hubs told her she wasn’t allowed to use pink. That is considered more of a “girly” color to most men, so I see where he is coming from. Instead she chose different shades of purple including Lavender. It turns out that Lavender is Jennifer’s grandmothers favorite color. What a sweet and subtle gesture to honor the bride’s grandma.
For those who think that a fairy tale is just that… a tall tale… think again. They exist.
