Navy and Gold

College is a great place to make new friends. It’s full of so many people however, that it’s almost impossible to bump into someone more than once, unless you happen to have classes together. That was just the case with Erica and Victor. They first met the fall of her freshman year and his sophomore year at NC State. They were in the same volleyball class and he had asked to be her partner the second day of class. Needless to say they became fast friends. During the semester, even though the campus is rather large, they managed to run into each other in the library at night where they would study. He would grab a table for them so they could study together, later walking her back to her dorm so she wouldn’t have to go alone. The cutest part was this continued all semester until he finally asked her out!

We asked Erica what drew her to him in the first place. She had the sweetest and most genuine answer of how Victor was such a southern gentleman. Walking her to her dorm and keeping her safe even before they were together. Not to mention he has the most gorgeous blue eyes she’s ever seen. She could just get lost in that endless ocean of blue.

Speaking of oceans…

Victor lives near Shackleford Banks, a horse island on the coast of North Carolina. Erica had always wanted to go and he finally took her on May 21, 2016 when the weather started to warm up and stay pleasant outside. They had packed a picnic lunch with wine and hiked to the highest sand dune for the best view of the horses and away from all the tourists. Erica was looking through the binoculars to get a better view of the horses when Victor called her name. When she turned around he was on one knee with a ring in hand. He didn’t beat around the bush but got straight to the point because he knew he wanted to spend forever with her. After their 7-year relationship, of course she said yes! They then spent the rest of the day enjoying the island, wine, horses, and a shiny new engagement ring!

On October 7, 2017 Erica got to say I do to seeing those blue eyes every single morning, day, and night. They had their ceremony at the gazebo and let me tell you, Erica was one gorgeous bride! It seems like more often than not, brides are moving away from the typical stark white gown and Erica is no exception. With her colors of Navy and Champagne, all that lace on her champagne colored dress was simply stunning. Her deep sweetheart neckline and thick lace straps accented with a long veil with a floral design to match… Oh my gosh I cant. Beautiful. The classically vintage feel that just radiated off this couple was undeniable. She couldn’t have picked a more perfect gown for her personality, along with her large bouquet filled with bright white and ivory hydrangeas, which just happen to be her absolute favorite flower. Her girls were in navy knee length gowns with light blue hydrangea bouquets. Who doesn’t love a good combination of mixed blues? I know I do!
