Some couples just fit together like extremely close knit puzzle pieces. Well that is exactly how to describe the relationship between Alaina and her now husband, James. Finding your missing puzzle piece takes time. It takes many failed attempts at putting pieces together that just don’t fit, no matter the angle. It can be disheartening and feel quite lonely at times but once you find that missing piece your heart is whole and life becomes a sweet, sweet song. It’s worth waiting on for sure!

The way people meet now is quite different than when, say, our grandparents were dating. Back then if you didn’t live in the same town, go to the same school or attend church together, you really didn’t meet. Now we have such busy lives that take us here and there and connectivity is at an all-time high. Simply picking up your cell phone connects you to thousands of people, not just the ones in your phone book. Online dating used to be seen as strange or even dangerous but with all the platforms available and so many successful relationships being made each and every day, the online dating world has really cleared its reputation and become a viable option for those looking for love. Our sweet couple, Alaina and James met just this way. Answering deep questions, questions that really make you consider who you are as a person, the dating platform generates an algorithm to help choose who will be your perfect companion. James popped up in her window with a 96% match and he had written her a long, impressive introduction. 96% is pretty good, right? 96% is great… marriage material actually!

The two hit it off and began dating. Months pass and James plans a day trip for them to visit Linville Falls in the mountains of North Carolina. There are various trails all leading to the falls and each has a great view but only one tops the cake. Hiking to the highest point so they could see the magnificent waterfall from the very best lookout, James asks Alaina to marry him. Of course she said yes! In anticipation of a yes, he had coordinated a dinner with both sets of parents after the hike so they could all toast and celebrate the engagement! The feeling you have when getting engaged is unlike any other. It’s a feeling of unwavering love, immense excitement and crazy anticipation. I didn’t have to be there that night to know the amazing amount of love and admiration that surrounded this sweet couple because it filled the entire banquet hall the entire night of their wedding. If any couple has a network of uplifting and caring relatives, it’s this one.

Fifteen months passed and here they are saying their “I Do’s” for all their family and friends to see. I am so glad that I got to be a part of your special day and get to know your friends and family. Continue putting God first in your relationship and He will continue blessing you in ways you can’t imagine.
