To Infinity and Beyond
“There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for you, cause you’ve got a friend in Me.” – Toy Story
Just like a Disney movie – boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, and together they live happily ever after. But it doesn’t always happen like on a movie where they meet at the park walking dogs… in fact Julie and Mitchell met on social media. Mitchell saw her first and decided to make the first move. He called her up and they went on their first date to Steak and Shake. They talked a lot and hung out whenever they could until they started officially dating in November of 2015.
A Special Proposal
Mitchell knew right away she was the one. Literally, like right then. In December he proposed with a custom ring he had made, combining his mother’s original ring and his grandmother’s ring. Two generations passed down to Julie. If that’s not the most sentimental thing you have ever heard then I don’t know what is! It is actually a southern tradition for a mother to give her first-born son her engagement ring diamond, or the entire set to give to his future bride. She is then supposed to put that set back to give to her future children.
Our Favorite Day
“Any day spent with you is my favorite day. So, today is my new favorite day” – Winnie the Pooh
I do believe that October 14th 2017 will be Julie and Mitchell’s new favorite day, the day they tied the knot with us at A Place in the Vineyard. In order to go along with their passion for Disney they chose a Toy Story theme for the wedding. It also happens to be Mitchell’s favorite of them all.
Toy Story Wedding
Her colors were yellow and red to match Woody and Jessie’s outfits from the movie. All her bridesmaids were in red knee length gowns and the guys wore black tuxedos with red ties to match the ladies. The cutest touch were the cuff links on each guy’s tux; they all had a different toy story character on them! What a unique way to personalize each groomsman. Now, as Julie came down the isle to the gazebo where her future husband stood, that smile just lit up her whole face. I would wager that it was even brighter than her bouquet filled with sunflowers and red roses.
Touches of Disney and whimsy filled the reception hall as people flooded in after the ceremony. Ivory linens with red overlays adorned the dining tables and on each table were her Toy Story themed centerpieces. Mason jars with sunflowers, red roses, and babies breath, but also little figurines from the movie with their wedding hash tag attached #ToInfinityAndBeYoung2017 since her new last name is Young! I love it! It’s so catchy and the play on words has my inner English Major squealing with joy. Not to mention her cake topper, which is Woody and Bo Peep! I also just noticed that she had their wine glasses painted with both of those characters as well.
It’s only natural that they would be spending their honeymoon in Disney… call me jealous it’s ok. I haven’t been since I was 10 so I would love to go back!
