I’m always asked the same question as a wedding bartender, “Don’t you get tired of weddings?” and the answer is simple. No! I don’t because every single wedding is different – the people, the atmosphere, the food, oh and we can’t forget the dancing! That’s definitely one of my very favorite parts as a bartender. I give them drinks, ambitions go away and poof they think they can dance! (and some really can!!)
The wedding of Elizabeth and Garry was no exception. This wedding stood out in my mind because it wasn’t the typical wedding that we see right now. This wedding was much more classic and timeless with more traditional choices in color, decor and materials. So many of the weddings that I see are extremely rustic using burlap and lace everywhere so it was a breath of fresh air to see something else for a change!
Now mind you, I am in no way dissing country, rustic weddings! They are absolutely beautiful too, but remember that question at the beginning “Don’t you get tired of weddings?” No, I don’t… unless they all look alike!
The Wedding Colors
Burgundy, shades of light pink and ivory adorned the dining tables and were worn by bridal party and guests alike. I love it when guests take note of the colors in the invitations and dress accordingly! These timeless colors will never go out of style. Elizabeth will never fan through her photo album and say, “why did I pick such trendy colors?” Trends may fade but classics are forever.
To keep with the color scheme, Garry (our handsome groom!) was sporting a very deep burgundy tuxedo with a white button up shirt underneath and a burgundy, floral necktie. Very dapper indeed! I feel super inclined to say that I normally am very skeptical when it comes to “colored” tuxedos. All I can think about are those flashback photos with guys my dad’s age getting married in baby blue, ruffled tuxedos. Yikes! That’s one thing I’m okay forgetting… forever! Garry’s wedding day attire was miles away from what you’re envisioning. Promise.
His groomsmen were in dark gray slacks, white button up shirts, bow ties and suspenders. The contrast made Garry stand out in all the photos and made him look like the star of the show… right behind Elizabeth of course!! No one can outshine the bride because she’s always the brightest star!
Elizabeth’s wedding gown was absolutely gorgeous with its plunging v neck and stunning crisscross back straps. This is the type of gown that all women hope for but few can actually pull off. With a trim figure and a curvy hourglass shape, Elizabeth’s wedding gown hugged in all the right places making it very hard for her new husband to look away! Ladies, we all want that on our big day don’t we!?! Today and everyday, yes please!
The Finished Product
Now that you’ve got a good visual of all the individual components, let’s put it together for a simply gorgeous wedding day! Choosing to get married at the pond and gazebo, the outdoor decorations were simple because who needs intricacy with all that intimacy. See what I did there? These two love birds tied the knot with communion during the ceremony and were paraded with a crowd of cheers when pronounced Mr and Mrs.
After the ceremony it’s off for more pictures! Guests mingle and snack while photographers run around the property snapping once-in-a-lifetime shots of the newlyweds.
Upon their arrival to the venue, guests stand and cheer as they make their grand appearance and move into their first dance as a married couple. Cakes are cut, garters are tossed and memories are made. What a beautiful wedding for the books!
Oh and I can’t forget their exit car… holy moly! Most people just drive off in their Jeep Cherokee lol. This couple knows how to make an exit!
