Let’s be Honest
What first attracted you to your significant other? Was it their smile perhaps? Or maybe their playful attitude? For Sarah, it was his laugh. Totally understandable. A guy with a creepy laugh… nope, not happening! But good laughs… good laughs are contagious. Now for Lawrence, get this, he was first attracted to Sarah’s back side. Hey hey don’t judge! All guys look at booties. He was just honest enough to put it out there for the world to hear. Kudos to you my friend!
So one might think that a relationship built off of initial attractions of a laugh and a booty wouldn’t last. Think again! I mean really, let’s get honest with ourselves for a minute. When you think back to when you first met your significant other, whether that was 6 months or 16 years ago, what first caught your eye? Kid you not, my husband said that he couldn’t take his eyes off my figure. But you know what? THAT’S OK! That was his first attraction and then it matured into something much, much deeper. We are all attracted outwardly at first and then we look inward to find the person we truly love.
Sarah and Lawrence were no different and I just love how honest they are with each other. He never once hid that from her and certainly didn’t hide it from us either, which is super cool. Honesty is a virtue.
Fast forward a bit and Lawrence is ready to propose. He purposefully planned this special event to fall during Sarah’s vacation with her family. What better way to celebrate the joyous occasion than with all of her family? The two of them were enjoying the hot July beach weather and he thought, “Yeah, this feels right. I’ll propose out here” He positioned himself in an area that family could see and he got down on one knee. Sarah squealed with excitement and they both turned to the family expecting them to be jumping with joy. Nobody even noticed! They were all too busy enjoying the beach and their beverages! How could they miss that RING?! He must have looked at my cheat sheet on picking the perfect engagement ring!
After the proposal, the wedding planning begins and that’s where we come in. The two knew they wanted a Spring wedding, so May was the perfect month! Now for colors. Something trendy but also timeless. Light blue, blush pink and navy fit the bill.
The groom and his groomsmen were in light blue dress shirts, slate blue trousers and navy blue neck ties. The groom wore a light blue sport coat that looked amazing! The bridesmaids were in light blue chiffon halter gowns and the bride was in a gorgeous sweetheart neckline mermaid gown. Gotta be honest here for a second… I LOVE her choice of flowers. So many times I see girls trying to incorporate their colors into every single detail which can turn out to be an overload of color. These bouquets relied heavily on their sage greenery with pops of white flowers. I also love that the bridesmaids bouquets were just like the brides, only smaller. All of this makes for great continuity and ensures that everything blends together well.
It was an absolute joy getting to work with these two but even more of a joy getting to know them. Their personalities are downright awesome and their honest outlook on life will take them far!
